Join WarnerMedia and CNN’s Jake Tapper in Supporting 'Homes For Our Troops'
With Veterans Day approaching, WarnerMedia is doing our part to make sure that we are helping those who served reintegrate into civilian life. We’ve partnered with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) to help – and you can, too. Now until November 14th, HFOT is running a unique auction featuring personal Zoom experiences, set visits, luxury items, and autographed memorabilia from various movie stars, musicians, and sports figures. Among the items and experiences up for auction are signed FRIENDS memorabilia from Jennifer Aniston’s personal collection; VIP tickets to a taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show; a Zoom call with Conan O’Brien; and an exclusive walk-on part on an upcoming HBO Max show.
All of the proceeds go to help HFOT build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services supporting Veterans.
CNN’s Jake Tapper, a long-time supporter of HFOT, had this to say about the organization: “I first heard about Homes For Our Troops while profiling a veteran attending a State of the Union address and was amazed at the work they do. A top-rated charity, HFOT spends almost all of its funds meeting a vital need: building specially-designed homes so the most severely wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan and their families can return to some semblance of normalcy. We owe these men and women so much, and HFOT helps begin to repay those debts.” We are proud to join them in raising both awareness and funding for this worthy goal.
